The members of the Stanford Amateur Radio Club put together a first-class effort in this year's ARRL Field Day from the shack at Site 530. Many of our members volunteered for important jobs and came through splendidly to create a positive experience for all involved. Overall, we estimate about fifty participants and visitors were involved in this year's Field Day.
Special mention in a new category this year to Carol W6GEM and Mark KE6FZS for organizing and executing the fine picnic and cook-out for Saturday evening and late Sunday morning. Among his other duties, Chris W6KNS handled the grill for the impromptu post-contest get-together.
Organization of this year's event was led by John Fore W6LD who motivated the members to come together as a team to do all that was necessary to achieve the best results possible based on anticipated conditions, participation, and the wealth of experience acquired from Field Days past. Strong preparation by a broad section of the club was key to our success. The main infrastructure systems for power, networking, and transmission, worked well to provide a solid basis for the rest of our operating activities.
W6YX operated in class 5F (five simultaneous transmitters from an established emergency operations center site) + GOTA station + UHF/VHF Transmitter
